The world of charter school law is complex and ever evolving, including new legislation coming into effect in July of this year.
A3 Education continues to adapt to the changing legal and regulatory environment and is committed to operating within the confines of the law and to maintain its vision to serve students who are not well served by the traditional school system.
A3 Education learned of an investigation last year by the San Diego District Attorney’s Office involving a charter school that it supports. Upon notification of that investigation, A3 Education offered to cooperate fully with the District Attorney’s Office. The District Attorney’s Office declined A3 Education’s offer.
A3 Education takes the charges filed against its employees last week very seriously, will review the charges carefully, and will take steps to review and revise its policies and procedures to address the concerns raised by the charges.
In the meanwhile, A3 Education has hired an interim CEO to lead the organization and the impacted employees have agreed to step down from their roles to ensure that A3 Education can continue to support the charter schools that its serves without further distraction.
